Chapter 7

"My God, I was serious, too." (Lily)
It was only Blake and Lily in the stable. Lilly smiled bitterly and waved her hands. Then she thought about it.
The only reason she couldn't fight back was because she was a coward. Lily Hedwick had to grow up to be a quiet lady that everyone envied.
“I'm sorry, but I wasn't sure I wanted to be recorded in the Bible as the witch who killed my husband.” (Lily)
Lily also didn't believe that her ex-husband's deed was a mistake due to alcohol. But even if it was….Oh, it was just sad.
“If the Bible has such useless characters and writing, throw it in the fireplace and set it on fire!” (Blake)
“Oh, how I wish all were as free from the gaze as Lord Blake.” (Lily)
With a bright smile, Lily leaned her upper body toward the man. She felt so good that she made the shelf shake.
The power to anger was long lost. That made Blake even more crazy. There was no one to be angry with for Lily's sake.
Not once in her life has anyone been angry like that. So she felt good. It made her happy enough to fill her stomach, and she smiled graciously.
“Still, I got away with a great incident. What a surprise, I left the divorce letter on the table.” (Lily)
Perhaps the capital would have been turned upside down. But Blake wasn't satisfied with that either.
“Not even throw the toilet in his face?” (Blake)
How in the world do you throw a toilet? Lily wondered, but kept in tune.
"Oh, my God. I forgot. Now that I think about it, I forgot to put the bomb in the house.” (Lily)
“That's a really funny joke.” (Blake)
Blake clenched his teeth.
Lily became serious again after the joke.
She sat on the shelf of the stable, so when she reached out, she was able to put her hands on the man’s firm shoulders.
“My husband must be very angry. It would have been better if we had a legal divorce.........." (Lily)
Divorce was really impossible.
First of all, every employee in the capital was a servant of her husband.
There was no way they would testify to the violence.
Lily's father had the title of a lawmaker, but there was nothing to expect.
The divorce of a noblewoman was the agenda of the court, and her father would move the flag pen so that the agenda would not be raised.
“I knew something was wrong When the Lady came here.” (Blake)
Blake had gotten almost all the right answers.
"I can't believe you came to the Duchy with only the passing words of my predecessor like a lifeline…..I knew it was strange. What are your parents doing? You didn't have any friends or other reliable acquaintances?" (Blake)
From an early age, Lily Hedwick met only certain people with her father's permission.
Occasionally she went to a very big party, if it was a situation beyond her parents' control. Her parents were not on Lily's side, there was no way the acquaintances they introduced her to would help her.
“Ah, let's stop with the boring old stories here. It's not the kind of thing you want to hear to start a good day. Besides, it's time for me to leave." (Lily)
Lily tapped her injured leg a few times. It seemed to have gotten much better during the conversation.
After roughly putting on the clothes she had taken off, she slid down the shelf.
The ferocious gaze of the man followed her tenaciously.
"You're changing the subject." (Blake)
"If you're a lady, shouldn't you have at least a few secrets?" (Lily)
As the most envied person in society, she spoke in a very elegant way.
"Why do you pretend to be noble at times like this!” (Blake)
"Yes, I'm the perfect aristocrat. Everyone was so anxious to kiss the back of my hand." (Lily)
Lily laughed as she stepped gracefully toward the stable door.
The winter castle was towered so high that even the clouds were hidden behind it.
The survival and compassion inside the desolate interior was more lively and friendly than expected. Lily completely forgot about the one-year deadline she had at the castle.
Even though it was obvious that once this time was up, she would be taken back to the hellish capital city.
There was nowhere else to escape from the hands of her family but here............
She couldn't ask Blake to solve the situation itself.
So she wanted to get out of the boring frame of mind for one year.
“I'll see you around, Lord Blake."
Lily turned the doorknob of the stable.
The sun permeated through the crack in the door. It glowed red, illuminating the piled snow.
Blake was frustrated with Lily for keeping her mouth shut at such an important moment.
What was more annoying was that he couldn't understand how such feelings could arise.
It hadn't even been an hour since he had decided not to care about the woman!
Rebellion was born. The harsh answer came out.
"This time it was a coincidence, but like I said, I don't want to be involved again from now on. If we run into each other even at a distance, let's pretend we don’t know each other.” (Blake)
"Well, that's too bad. I'm starting to like Lord Blake from today." (Lily)
"Ha!"
Blake reminded himself again.
‘Definitely, I will no longer care about Lily Hedwick.’
It was not his concern that she had suffered enough to become numb to her wounds...
‘Yes, it’s not my business.’
Blake swore, looking at Lily as she departed ahead of him. Without knowing the fact that he was already tightly entangled.
…….He couldn't do anything when he was wrongly accused.
-Don't sit on the ground!
His young voice kept ringing in his ears.

The morning came.
Gianna, Lilly's full-time servant, woke up early.
There was no worker like a dedicated maid in this barren castle.
They just helped each other when there was work.
It was very far different from any stylish mansion in the imperial capital.
Gianna had to know how to properly serve Lily. So she stopped by the old library.
“What are you reading, friend?"
A fellow maid found Gianna while passing by with an ax on her back and asked.
Gianna climbed down from the high ladder of the library. She answered, clearing the place at once with her stocky arms.
‘'I don't remember the title, let’s see…'One Hundred Tips on How to Be a Good Employee,' If you look at the chapter here, the servants must lift their heels and move quietly. Can you believe it?"
"Hahaha, no way! It's not even a fairy tale. I don’t even think the capital city will be like that!”
The maids in the capital did so.
This book was a gift sent by a nobleman a hundred years ago to insult the freedom of the Upus family. It was roughly stuck in the library for a long time.
Thanks to the book Gianna was able to find out.
If you are the maid in charge, you have to wake Lily up early in the morning.............
So she ran into Lily's room.
“Miss Lily!"
Gianna opened the door confidently. It was an attitude that she hoped Lily would compliment her on in a friendly voice.
“Good morning, Miss Lily!”
Lily, who had just fallen asleep at dawn, was startled awake by the loud voice.
She raised her upper body in bed and removed the blanket.
"Huh, what... what's wrong?"
Seeing Gianna in such a hurry, Lily wondered if there was a war going on. Did another country attack them or something?
What was the nature of the thunderous sound she had just heard?
As Lily hurried to walk toward Gianna, she felt a throbbing pain in her ankle.
She put her hand on the wall and looked down. The affected area was swollen red while sleeping.
“Oh, my god, Miss Lily! What kind of wound is this?"
"Oh .................. yes, yesterday ...... ......."
When she was tired, the spell didn't work properly. She left it alone, but now it got pretty bad.
"Yesterday? When you came back from the stable and returned the bucket to us, nothing happened, right?"
“Actually, it was Lord Blake in the stable….”
Lily was just about to explain the situation in detail.
"Oh my god!"
The people of Upus were brave. Instead of a hard core, they were lacking in many things, like patience and the ability to listen to the end.
Gianna was angry to the top of her head. A wild scene passed through her brain that her Master Blake had pushed Lily.
She threw the rag that was hung over her shoulder. Then she ran out the hallway.
"Gia, Gia, Gianna!"
Gianna vanished from the room in a flash. Lily's screams followed.
Lily had to catch up with Gianna.
Gianna had only heard the first words and misunderstood. What was she going to do with Lord Blake? Gianna looked so scary that Lily had a frightened imagination of what Gianna would do to Blake.
"Gianna............. You can't hit your master on the head! It's a mutiny! Wait!”
Lily left the room hurriedly with her injured ankle.
The corridors of the castle were piled with white bricks larger than a man's head. Even though it was morning, it felt cold and desolate.
Gianna was now so far away that she looked small.
There was no hesitation in her gait. She had a strong fighting spirit to cut off her master's head.
"Gianna!"
Lily's head wavered.
Just then, another group of solid maids walked by Gianna’s side. Lily shouted at them.
“Excuse me! Can you hold Gianna back? She's running a race in the hallway!"
They were the maids who had fed Lily jerky last night.
They were brave Upus like Gianna, so they jumped high and willingly. Then they attacked Gianna.
"I've got you!"
“If you move, your arms will have to say goodbye to your body as it is!”
Once the commotion was over, the question came up.
"But what’s wrong with Gianna?"
Meanwhile Lily was able to get closer, out of breath.
“Oh, my gosh, Gianna. How could you be so quick? Lord Blake is not at fault. It's more my fault that my ankle was injured.”
Then the maids found Lily's swollen right ankle.
They had the same violent reaction as Gianna.
“Our Master is the culprit?! Oh, I will not tolerate this!”
“Come with me, my friends. It seems that my ax of justice is thirsting for blood!”
"I'll have to get the doctor first!"
Lily felt like her eardrums were going to burst.
She even started to laugh.
It really was the liveliest morning in the world.
The employees that Lily had lived and seen could never speak up like this. They would never do that.
Lily covered her ears and still faintly heard their screams.
They had advanced to the stage of killing their master. A single word disrupted the carnage.
“I’m glad that you worry me so intensely. I'm feeling really good, but I'll be in big trouble at this rate.”
So Lily chose the soundest of the cases the servants brought up.
“Hey, how about the doctor? It looks like there’s a doctor in the castle. Can you bring him to me?"
"If your stomach split and you need major surgery, you should go down the mountain, because you need a proper sorcerer. If you don't have that kind of injury, we have the right person for the job."
"The right person?"
"I'm going to catch him in no time...No, I'll bring him, so please wait!"
Lily was sent back to her room on a human sedan chair.
Soon a man who looked compliant came to the room.
“The maid pushed me so hard! From the other side of the door! I have legs too, I can walk on my own!”
"Oh. Let's do this. I’ll just walk in front of you today. You can hit me on the back five times a second."
The man smiled awkwardly as he met Lily's eyes.
"I’m IIDexter. I'm the Duke’s aide.”
The brown-haired man had a neat appearance with his glasses.
Lily was sitting on the bed, half coerced by the servants, when she noticed the man and readily shook his hand.
